Dr. Annie Biele, DVM

Medical Director

Dr. Biele is a Minnesota native and graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. She also received her undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus. Her professional interests include preventative medicine, soft tissue surgery and internal medicine. She lives in the Twin Cities area with her husband and three young children. Other inhabitants of her home include two English Setter dogs named Spruce and Sap and an exuberant young cat named Sherwood.

Jerry, LVT

Practice Manager and Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT)

Welcome to Maple Grove Pet Hospital! Meet Jerry, our Practice Manager and Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) with over 30 years of dedicated experience in the field. With Jerry at the helm, our team is committed to providing exceptional client care.

Jerry’s leadership fosters a culture of teamwork and client satisfaction, ensuring seamless service and support for both pets and their families. He believes in personalized care and attention, striving to create meaningful connections with each client.

Beyond the clinic, Jerry is an active volunteer at the North Minneapolis Pet Resources Center, extending our commitment to community support.

Jerry, along with his husband John of 22 years, relocated to MN about 9 years ago. In his free time, Jerry enjoys camping and kayaking, with Voyaguer National Park being a favorite destination for long kayaking and camping trips. With extensive experience caring for various pets professionally and personally, Jerry currently shares his home with Luke, an 85-pound golden doodle, and Connor, an 83-pound Labradoodle, both of whom will be familiar faces at the clinic. Jerry also has a passion for cooking and baking, always eager to try out new recipes.

Under Jerry’s guidance, Maple Grove Pet Hospital prioritizes the health and well-being of pets while ensuring the satisfaction and peace of mind of their owners.

Kendra, CVT

Certified Veterinary Technician

With a lifelong passion for veterinary medicine. From a young age, Kendra dreamt of caring for animals, and today, she brings that passion to life through her work with us.

With a diverse background in rescue and shelter medicine, emergency, intensive care, and general practice, Kendra possesses a breadth of experience that enriches our team. Her journey in veterinary medicine has been shaped by her love for animals and her desire to make a difference in their lives.

Kendra’s special interests in surgery, anesthesia, pain management, radiology, geriatric, and whole animal health reflect her dedication to every aspect of veterinary medicine. Whether she’s assisting in complex surgeries or advocating for the comfort and well-being of senior pets, Kendra’s expertise shines through in every interaction.

In her free time, Kendra enjoys exploring new destinations, immersing herself in a good book, and playing the flute with the community band. Her creative pursuits, coupled with her passion for animal welfare, make Kendra a well-rounded individual with a genuine love for life and all its creatures.

At home, Kendra shares her life with two dogs and a plethora of cats, including a “special” needs kitty. Her personal experiences have deepened her understanding and empathy for animals with unique needs, fueling her commitment to providing comprehensive care to every patient she encounters.

Becca, CVT

Certified Veterinary Technician

Meet Becca D., a seasoned certified veterinary technician (CVT) whose passion for animals and dedication to compassionate care have defined her career. Graduating from veterinary technician school in 2009, Becca has amassed a wealth of experience working in various small animal veterinary practices across the Twin Cities.

In addition to her clinical work, Becca has lent her expertise to the Pet Poison Control Helpline, where she provided invaluable assistance to pet owners in times of need. Her diverse background has equipped her with a breadth of knowledge and skills that she brings to our practice.

Family is at the heart of Becca’s life, and she finds joy in spending time with her two children, three beloved cats, and a cherished dog who holds a special place in her heart. With her deep love for animals, Becca has developed a keen interest in supporting clients and patients during hospice care and providing end-of-life education, ensuring that pets receive dignity and comfort in their final moments.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Becca enjoys indulging in her hobbies, which include sewing, practicing yoga, and taking long, quiet walks with her canine companion. These moments of tranquility allow her to recharge and find balance amidst the demands of her work and family life.

Marlo

Veterinary Technician

A compassionate veterinary technician hailing from Crystal, MN, who brings warmth and expertise to our practice. Marlo’s journey in veterinary medicine has been marked by a deep love for all creatures, with a special affinity for our beloved big dogs.

Marlo’s devotion to her family shines through in every aspect of her life. As a devoted wife and mother of three wonderful children, Marlo understands the importance of love, care, and compassion, both at home and in the clinic.

At home, Marlo shares her life with two furry companions: an 11-year-old Doberman/Lab mix and a lively 4-year-old boxer mix. Her heart truly belongs to these big dogs, whose companionship brings joy and fulfillment to her life.

When she’s not busy caring for animals, Marlo cherishes quality time with her family outdoors, enjoying nature walks, bike rides, playgrounds, and beaches. Family movie nights are a treasured tradition, although finding a movie that everyone agrees on can sometimes be a challenge!

Marlo’s educational journey led her to graduate with an associate’s degree in veterinary technology, laying the foundation for her fulfilling career in veterinary medicine. Her genuine love for animals and her desire to build lasting relationships with clients and their pets are at the core of her approach to care.

Marlo believes in earning the trust of her furry patients by providing compassionate and personalized care. She takes the time to get to know each pet individually, ensuring they feel comfortable and at ease during their visits to the clinic.

Tricia, CVT

Certified Veterinary Technician

Tricia, CVT, seamlessly transitioned from a successful marketing career to pursue her passion for veterinary medicine, driven by a desire to make a real impact in the lives of pets and their pet parents. With over a decade of experience as a Certified Veterinary Technician since 2009, Tricia is deeply committed to providing top-tier care.
 
As a fervent advocate for Fear Free principles, Tricia is Fear Free certified, prioritizing the emotional well-being of her animal patients. She insists on working in clinics that adhere to AAHA and AAFP guidelines, ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained.
 
Tricia’s professional interests lie in surgery, dentistry, pain management, and nursing care, where she continuously seeks to expand her expertise. Beyond her veterinary work, she enjoys cherished moments with her husband and two teenage boys, often found cheering them on at baseball games or exploring the outdoors during warmer seasons.

Makayla

Veterinary Assistant

Makayla, a dedicated veterinary assistant and proud Minnesota native, draws upon her background as a US Army veteran to infuse her work with a sense of duty and compassion. With her two beloved dogs, River Roe, a Golden Retriever, and Salem, a Siberian Husky/Alaskan Malamute mix, alongside her two cats, Makayla deeply understands the importance of the human-animal bond and strives to enhance the lives of pets and their pet parents.
 
Currently aspiring to become a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT), Makayla places a strong emphasis on client education, transparency, and providing peaceful end-of-life services. She believes in creating happy and comfortable experiences for apprehensive patients, ensuring their well-being is always prioritized. Makayla’s commitment to excellence extends from her pet boarding experiences, where she focused on providing personalized care to ensure pets feel safe and at ease while away from home.
 
During her free time, Makayla indulges in her passions, including playing slow-pitch softball, singing, and tackling house projects. She also enjoys exploring the culinary scene by trying new restaurants, adding a dash of adventure to her life outside of the clinic. With her unwavering dedication to animal welfare and her community, Makayla exemplifies the essence of compassionate care and service in her role as a veterinary assistant.
